So I have been gone from the US for a week now and I honestly can’t believe it. Everything has gone so fast and yet so slow! This whole thing feels like a dream! I wish I could tell you all every single story that I already have but fact is, every single second of my life now is a crazy story! If I could only tell you one thing that I have learned so far it’s that God does provide. God provides in crazy ways. I’m having the time of my life!
Yes sometimes I miss things like a bed, cold drinks, ice… OH GOD I MISS ICE!, and an airconditioning blowing in my face…. But fact is, I have traded it in for….
Getting pointed at by a 4 year old little boy with hippo shoes on screaming “YOU YOU YOU!!!” yesterday telling me to get off the bus… I was the first to brave up and get off the bus and I was instantly greeted with hugs! I just got to play ball and get the greatest hugs I have ever recieved last night by a group of complete strangers at the orphanage.
I traded in cool weather and the AC blowing in my face for a hot bus stuffed in there with some of the most amazing people I have ever met to have the most beautiful and exciting conversations of our lives…. I also traded it in for a worship service in the heat under a tarp, getting called up in front of the entire church that was SUPER hot outside to greet the people, I also got to hear Jeremy open up and preach this morning to around 500 hatian people. I sweat in the hot but I’m happy to because the reason I’m sweating is I get to praise God with some of the friendliest, poorest, and hurt people in the world… But they are all so greatful and have already began to witness to me… I also sweat because I am dancing with all of the orphans =)
And even though I miss family, friends, and even my dog…. God has provided me with…
A squad that’s ON FIRE for God and who knows how to bring the kingdom to the world! I’m constantly amazed by these people!
I have 3 squad leaders who are constantly fighting for me and my team…. And I have been blessed with 2 spritual parents in the Days. They are so amazing and they are just there to be there… And sometimes, that’s the most important thing and the greatesst thing a person can do.
I also get to spend the next month with a dog on fire for god… His name is pooch. He follws us EVERYWHERE! The ocean, the truck, the tent, and even to church this morning!!!
I also get to have brothers and sisters in a very close envirement! Hinds Feet is amazing and I already consider them my siblings. Christy is so full of life and knows how to bring the holy spirit in any place, Shawndell is like a little kid excited to share the good news and be back in her favorite place Haiti… I’m enjoying learning from her. Kayla is constantly switching things up! She is such a grejat leader and she always knows what to say…. she is a bit extreme. She can usually be found being quite or dancing in the middle of the street with strangers! Aubrie is like the refreshing calm one. I love our long talks and I love the way she thinks. She has so much to teach me and I’m so eager to learn from her…
As for the boys, Lucas constantly is the life of the party. He is always doing his own thing and we just follow… His energy level is amazing and he constantly is helping out… He is also very protective of us girls on our team when guys come up to us, he bulks up and just changes… I love it. I feel safe with him.
Jeremy is AMAZING! We have so much fun laughing and just being goofy! And we are the 2 southerners so we sometimes go hardcore into redneck mode. It’s just really nice to have him around… Not to mention he is totally going to come into a crazy amazing man of God! He actually already is… But his fire is about to get lit even more!
Anyway, that’s all I have right now… I have tons of pics I wish I could post but I can’t right now since we only have a little internet to use right now.
