Hello from Zambia!!
I’ll share with you what I sent to my prayer partners recently! Thank you all for praying for myself and my team over these last few months. I apologize for the lack of update recently! I will try to get you all up to speed as to what has happened over the past few months!
Cambodia– Our team lived in a village outside Phenom Phen. Ministry looked like teaching English each day, bible studies, vbs type children outreaches, preaching at a drug rehab center, preaching at church and youth groups. It was a very busy month, but we were able to see so much fruit in salvations and blessings within that community.
Vietnam– Team changes happened and I was put on a co-ed team. We taught English and helped run a coffee shop. Most of our ministry was helping Vietnamese people with conversational English and sharing the Gospel through questions they asked. Vietnam is a closed country, so we had to be extra careful about sharing the Gospel.
India– We once again ran a coffee shop- but this time it was in a remote backpacker town called Hampi. We made lots of coffee and chai- I consider myself to be almost a pro at making chai now. Most of our outreach was to customers that came into the shop and most of these were Jewish/Israeli people. We would also take trains on the weekends to our pastor’s home and preach at their churches. Sometimes we would visit 3 churches in one day!
Nepal– We left the coffee life behind and tried our hands at teaching again! This time we taught young children. My teaching partner Clay and I had about 25 kids ranging from 3-9 years old. They were in “nursery”, which meant that they knew the bare minimum of math, English, Nepali, etc. They had final exams our last week there so most of the month was spent preparing them for those exams. They are actually still taking them, so please feel free to pray for them during that time. We stayed with a host family, which was amazing!
Zambia– We have just arrived here and I can already tell this month is going to be a favorite! I love the people and this place; there is so much freedom here! We are working with a group called J-Zone, which focuses mostly on youth ministry. So far we have visited an orphanage to do a Bible study, participated in a youth group service, and enjoyed a 5 hour long African church service (AMAZING!). Going forward we will continue to do those things, along with evangelistic outreaches, some to very remote places. We aren’t sure always what we will be doing, but it has been amazing thus far!
