Dear
Friends and Family,
I
hope that God is doing as many wonderful things in your life as He is
in mine. I am really excited for this opportunity to share with you
what has been going on in my life recently! On May 10th of
this year, I graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Marketing, but instead of joining the work force right away, God
showed me a different plan. I have been accepted by Adventures in
Missions on their World Race Missions Program.
The
idea of the World Race is to take a year of your life and to live
like Jesus lived while traveling around the world. When we travel,
we’ll do so cheaply, and in many places, we’ll stay in tents or
wherever people invite us to stay. I am at a wonderful crossroads in
my life and because I do not have many obligations yet, this is the
perfect time for me to leave a life of comfort to live for an amazing
God. I will leave in October of 2008 and spend the next 11 months
traveling to 11 different countries around the globe with other
people my age to share Christ’s love with others through
serving Him in various areas of ministry.
God
has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion
for His people around the world, but the exciting part is that you
will be able to share in this compassion in several ways, too! I
need partnerships in prayer, encouragement, and finances. I am
specifically asking for 15 people who will pray for me daily while I
am away. In addition to prayer, I am also asking for your support
financially. I must raise $1,255 for each month of the World Race to
cover my food, shelter, and travel expenses for the 11 months, which
brings the trip total to $13,800. A number of
you may be in a position to financially contribute to my support. I
calculated that if ten people gave $125 per month each OR if twenty
people gave $63 per month OR if thirty people gave $42 per month OR
if forty people gave $31 per month then I would meet my goal! Will
you please pray about supporting me for one of these amounts?
I
have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which
invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to
Adventures In Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my
name in the memo section of the check if you wish. All donations
should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta,
GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all
necessary information. Adventures in Missions is registered with the
Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding
that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the
discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are
non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may
be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor. You can also
donate online through my blog.
As
I prepare for and while I journey on the race, I will keep a blog so
you can stay updated on my life. Please visit and subscribe to brittanykulick.theworldrace.org by clicking on “Subscribe to My Blog!
Throughout the year I will be posting pictures and journal entries.
Please take time to check in on me and to post comments, send me
pictures from home, or send your love and prayers.
I
am really excited to see how God will mold me during the next year
through my experience with the World Race. I hope to be a blessing,
not only to those I serve, but to you as well. Please prayerfully
consider supporting me on my journey.
Will
you join me on the race?
God
Bless,
Brittany
Kulick
