Let me tell you a story…
The story goes something like this…  There was a monk that went hiking and was looking on the edge of a cliff at tiger came up behind so the Monk had a decision to make. stay and get eaten by the tiger or try to jump over the cliff. He looked over the cliff and it was a platform about 10 feet down, and then it was about a 100 foot drop. The monk jumped over the edge and landed on that platform. He looked up at the hungry and growling tiger above, and looked below at the 100 foot drop. Realizing his fate, he look straight ahead, and saw that there was a single strawberry growing. He picked it, ate it, and declared that that was the best strawberry he had ever eaten.

Moral of the story: you can find something positive in every situation. God gives us tons of strawberries throughout the day, we just have to seek to find them.

This past week I was in Gainesville, Georgia for training camp. It was one of the most exhausting yet rewarding weeks I could have had. Our day started out at 6:30 AM so that we could get up, get dressed and have all our stuff packed up by 7am including our tent. After that we had exercise time then personal time and breakfast and then a long day of lectures, lessons, and teambuilding time. Each day we were in a different continent or country. That meant that our food and living situations were different each day. From sleeping in our tents and being able to use our forks and knives, too sleeping on a bus, not being able to use our forks and knives, and having to use the bathroom in the woods with a partner.

The first few days were focused on our personal relationship with God and on ourselves. I really think God had me at this training camp for a reason. The first one got me back on track with God. But this one taught me to go way deeper than I ever could have imagined. That God is not a dead God, but is alive. That the Holy Spirit can work through us in ways that don't seem humanly possible. That the best place to be is right in the middle of the river. Right in the middle of Gods love rushing over us.

I found out that I am on a team of six. Four girls and two guys:) Our team name, is Team Free To Be.:) I am so excited to be on this team, and I can't wait to find out what God has in store for us as a team and for us as individuals.

The first country we will fly out to in September will be Haiti. We will be in Central/South America, Africa, and Asia.

Not only am I trying to collect money to be able to go, as I will have deadlines to meet, (still need around $11,000), But I also want to collect extra money, because we might get to work in Red Light districts in Asia. That means we we might be working in areas of high prostitution, and human trafficking. If that's the case I would like to have extra money so that we may be able to 'buy' the time of some of the women and lady boys, so that we can build relationships with him and show them God's love.
