In nature, things are attracted to the light. For instance, a bug lamp. The bugs are mesmerized and attracted to the light. Or think about people. A lot of people are scared of the dark, but I’ve never heard of someone being scared of light. Light tends to have the idea of being good. And darkness having a quality of bad. As Christians, our goal is to be the light in this dark world. Christ is light, and we are to be like Christ.

Jesus gave us a task, sort-of-say. “Mathew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

It’s pretty common sense, that to see a beam of light from a flashlight, it must be in the darkness. . . Don’t believe me? Next time your outside when the sun is fully up, take a flashlight and turn it on. . . . Now, turn the flashlight on in the middle of the night . . . See the difference?

We get so comfortable in our Christian huddles, and so scared when we are put in the dark, that we are missing it. If our job is to ‘be the light’, we need to be submissive and go out into the darkness! If it’s light, then more light isn’t going to make a huge impact, But what will, is if the light shines in the darkness.

So fellow Christians, keep in mind, Jesus, has overcame the darkness. “John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  We should not be afraid, but be a light to those who may need a flashlight.

So excited for my future journey on this WR. I think we will get plenty of opportunities to be beams of light:)
