My team left Kenya on October 1st and we are now in Uganda for the month. I loved Kenya so much, the church we were worked with and the people in the community were all so loving and amazing. I’d love to go back there someday.

We did have some difficulties in Kenya, but God is amazing and he showered us with His almighty love, peace and strength each day. So I ended up getting malaria about the 3rd week we were there. After a few shots and an IV though I am feeling great. Before we left they tested my blood again and I even got to look at it under the microscope and I am malaria free! Bwana asifiwe! (Praise the Lord in Swahili.) Two of my teammates, Casey and Anmari, also got malaria and are totally malaria free now as well. Another one of my teammates, Rebekah, ended up getting really sick and went home back to the USA to recover there, she is doing a lot better now. My teammate, Anmari, ended up having to go home as well because she didn’t have enough support money in her account to stay out on the field. So she is back in Florida working as hard as she can to raise enough support to join us again sometime soon. If you would like to help support her check out her blog: www.anmaririvera.theworldrace.org.

So my team of 5 people now are in Kampala, Uganda now for the month of October. We are working with a church here doing door-to-door evangelism and helping out in their daily church services. We are also planning to visit a hospital, a jail, some schools and a couple of villages while we’re here.

Prayer requests-

-God’s strength each day for my team.

-The community we are working with: alcoholism, AID’s and witchcraft are all problems here.

-That my team would get plenty of rest each night.

-That we would be able to encourage the people of the church we’re working alongside.
