The truth is. . .
God called me to this trip, and I am terrified.
The truth is. . .
My anxiety has gotten so bad that I’m not sleeping, I have no appetite, and even the simplest tasks take extra effort.
The truth is. . .
I’m terrified of not being in control.
The truth is. . .
This mission trip is so much more than I can handle.
The truth is. . .
I’m freaking out with every step I take forward.
The truth is. . .
Everyday I recite these words:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
Do not be anxious. . .Do not be anxious. . .Do not be anxious. . .
The truth is. . .
The Lord says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9a)
The truth is. . .
I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9b)
The truth is. . .
For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
The truth is. . .
It doesn’t matter how inadequate I feel because Jesus is more than enough. Because He died, resurrected, and ascended into Heaven, I have the power of the Holy Spirit coursing through my veins. He is the source of the strength in my body, and without Him, I am nothing. And that’s okay. I’d rather be everything in Jesus than nothing without Him.
The truth is. . .
Even though I speak these truths over myself everyday, I need you. I need to lean on the Body of Christ for the extra push. I need you to pray.
