This is the last of my Glimpses from Tanzania.

(Sorry for the delay…Internet here is not very conducive for picture blogs.)

Day 145: Iringa Town, Tanzania

This is one of the sweet little boys who was crawling all over us during kids ministry today.  I love getting to love on these kids!

Day 146: Iringa Town, Tanzania

We walked for about an hour and a half to get to the place where we were supposed to do street evangelism today.  I wasn’t sure why we walked all the way to those particular shops until we met Prisca.  Prisca invited us into her house.  She then told us that after her husband died she started sleeping with a lot of people and contracted AIDS.  Her upper right side felt like it was on fire, burning from the inside out.  We talked to her about Jesus’ forgiveness and His love for her.  We prayed for her and the burning completely stopped.  She gave her life to Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit!

Day 147: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Nancy is a friend of Stephanie’s cousin who lives here in Dar es Salaam.  She graciously invited us into her home, fed us, and allowed us to sleep in her house.  She is eccentric and kind and gave us hope that there are people in this world who don’t live a normal life, that it’s okay to follow your dreams and your heart.

Day 148: Zanzibar, Tanzania

We were given three days off before moving onto our next country.  So, we choose to spend those days on an island off the coast of Dar es Salaam called Zanzibar.  It is stunningly beautiful.

Day 149: Zanzibar, Tanzania

Being near the ocean reminds of God’s vastness.  Being here with my friends reminds me of His vast love for me.

Day 150: Zanzibar, Tanzania

We went snorkeling out a local boat carved out of a mango tree.  While snorkeling in the beautiful, crystal clear water, we saw some of the most incredible fish I’ve ever seen including bright blue starfish.  Just as we were swimming to another coral reef, I felt a searing pain whip me on my arm which then whipped me again and again on my legs.  I got back to the boat to find out it was a jellyfish and I had long rope-like burns all up and down my legs and my arm.  These bright blue jellyfish are in mating season which causes them to be everywhere in the ocean at this time of the year.

Day 151: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

This is where I spent my quiet time this morning before heading back to Dar es Salaam.  God really is the giver of the most incredible gifts (Matt. 7:11)!

Day 152: Bus between Dar es Salaam and Mwanza, Tanzania

My team along with 3 other teams got on a bus that was supposed to be between 10-12 hours, but, true to Africa time, turned out to be a 20 hour bus ride.  Luckily, there were cute kids like this on the bus who kept me entertained with his enthusiasm over “mzungus” being on the bus.
