Two weeks out.
Wild.
This month we have been working with
our contact Emmi who is just really awesome. She has a great vision
for Chiang Mai and Thailand in general. She knows that kingdom is
coming here and gosh darn it she’s going to be a part of it.
Emmi has started a Kafe here in the
city right across from two different universities hoping to give the
kids a hang out where they can learn English and be surrounded by
lovers of our God. Basically she needs volunteers to work in the Kafe
while its getting started because the ministry does not have the
money to pay for employees yet so that’s where teams like World Race
and YWAM teams come in. to help in the kitchen, clearing drinks,
food, and serving as well as getting the word out on the universities
campuses.
This is just a small part of Lighthouse
ministries. We are also involved in Bar ministries which entails
going out to the red light districts and building relationships with
the girls that work in the bars some may be prostitutes others may
just be pouring drinks, either way they need Jesus. I’ve been able to
meet some very amazing girls out in the district. I’ve been visiting
2 bars in particular every night I go out.
Side note: we go out each night but two
of us girls stay in to intercede and pray as the other girls go out
asking for safety, the right words to speak, and open hearts and
minds in the women we are having conversations with. I personally
think this is very awesome because prayer is so important in this
place. Thailand is a very spiritually dark climate because of the
buddhist beliefs and the intense sex trafficking that goes on in the
country. This time of prayer allows us to really seek the heart of
God in everything that we do.
Okay back to the story……the women
of the “8th Dwarf” have stolen my heart. They are
beautiful, kind, caring and loving. They take care of each other,
watch out for one another. It’s a wonderful thing I see in each of
them. Every night I walk in they drop what they do to come hug
me…we sit down play a game of dominoes or connect four (I always
lose) we talk to the best of our abilities (thai-english-hand
motions) I ask them about their children and they light up. Each of
the women and precious and beloved by God, I just want to be able to
convey that love to them.
Lord I ask that you are with us when we
are out, protect us, guard our hearts and our minds. Protect these
women and show them there is a way out of the lifestyles they are
living. In Jesus name I ask for a light, a path for them to follow. I
ask for mentors to help them understand your truth and your life.
Amen.
This is what month 11 looks like. Once
again my heart is not my own it goes out to the broken, hurt, and
apathetic. It’s yours Lord to use. With two weeks left I ask for
strength, rest, and wisdom. Love you God.
Thank you for staying connected with me
and my blogs this year. It’s been a huge encouragement to see
comments and know that people are hearing a little about what I’ve
been able to be a part of this year. Hope to share more in the
future…I’ll keep you updated 🙂
p.s. I am still fund raising for the
Egypt missions trip in July. I know that when God calls He will
provide. I’m in need of roughly $500 in order to participate. Thanks
so much for prayerfully considering to further the Kingdom once
again.
Love, Love, Love.
