Yesterday we had a tour with the entire J squad. The fam. Everyone met us in Jerusalem and we did a tour of the city saw the sights my team has been able to see for the last two weeks. Did the Geoff and Brittany armpit picture with the Dome of the Rock in the background. Saw a camel chillin on the ground.. Took a couple of the girls to the wailing wall. Every time I go there it gets better. There is just something about it that is so cool to say the least. You know they clean out the wall two times a year and bury the prayers on the mount of olives. I think that’s pretty epic. They will forever be there in Jerusalem.
As you may or may not have know we are in our second city in Israel. We arrived in Arad late last night. I’m very excited to be here to learn more of the culture and to teach English to the people here. I cant wait to see how it goes, I really feel passionate about teaching. It should be a good experience.
Okay so I’ve been battling a little with homesickness. Not in a huge way or anything just you know realizing hey it’s November 16th getting close to the holidays. Today I woke up in kind of a grouch mood because of that. So moving slowly along with my day went to the grocery store, breakfast, did our hour of prayer, then sort of mapped out how these next 8 days were going to go, and had lunch. Then as I’m washing the dishes my sisters start playing Christmas music….and by playing I mean blaring. It just totally and completely changed my mood and mind set. I know I have a family here. We are going to have an amazing holiday season. Starting with Thanksgiving. All of J squad will be together. Six teams will get to come together and bring a little something from their families at home. Its pretty awesome to think about. We have grown into this huge family. It makes me so happy to be able to look forward to Thanksgiving.
It’s great to see G-d move in big and small ways. Like getting us on the right bus last night even though everything is in Hebrew to building me a family who truly loves, craves, and follows Him. I want to thank you guys so much for following my blogs and encouraging me in the many ways that you guys do. Love you all to the moon. Happy nearly holidays J
