We are learning that true freedom
comes from sacrifice, obedience is more important than success. The
way up is the way down, and darkness shows us Christ more than
sunshine does. Instead of asking “What would Jesus do?” we are
asking, “What would Jesus have me do?” and we are doing it. We
are learning that God doesn’t make mistakes. He doesn’t call us to
forget us. He doesn’t equip us to discard us. And the God who pulls
us to Himself joins us for the journey.

Just a little something from a book I
just finished. I agree with everything in that statement. God is
teaching us more and more everyday that He is here. The way to Him is
through Jesus. He has not forgotten us in the hardest of trials for
He does not give us more than we can bear. He squeezes us in order to
shape us. He breaks us in order to build us. We discover that in our
brokenness, God himself is with us, suffering beside us, holding us
up.
This is how I am dealing with what is
to come in the next week….and weeks. This huge transition that is
going to happen and has already started. We have two more days of
ministry at the Kafe and one more night out in the Red Light District
with the girls who have become my friends.
I think this may be one of the hardest
goodbyes on the race.

-
saying goodbye to the people at
the ministry site means in a few short days saying goodbye to my
amazing squad. -
Knowing home is coming in 9 short
days. -
If there has ever been a
bittersweet feeling in my life this is it.
I know God is faithful. When I am
unsure He has a plan. Going home will be so awesome/weird/crazy. And
saying goodbye to this lifestyle with be hard/easy/and again crazy.
It’s become normal to have 40 really great friends around, to move
and change people, places, countries every single month. I will miss
that but I think my body will be grateful for the rest that will come
along with being home.
I’m excited to see what will come next
for all of us. The missions we will set off on, the families we will
make, the preachers, the teachers, and the odd jobs I’m sure some of
us will pick up.
I know I have a home in J Squad and I’m
thankful our squad has been a safe place, a holy place.
So I love you all.
I’m excited to see you at final debrief
to laugh, cry, and to make new memories together one last time.
Thank you for being obedient, for
living in truth and in the light.
LOVE YOU J SQUAD!

P.S. For all of you at home thanks for
joining me in prayer and support during this year. It would be a huge
blessing if you would prayerfully consider joining me in prayer and
support in my next journey God has called me on. This short term
mission to Cairo, Egypt during July 12th-22nd to help
with a youth camp that is in it’s 3rd year. For more
information email me or hit the contact me button on the left. I am
still in need of $400 to go on this trip and I know God will provide
for this by the time I return from the race so thank you so very much
for your consideration and prayers!
