Of all the places in the world I could be this month, Utah, Georgia, America, or ANYWHERE else…. God brought me to a little village town in South East Asia. Of all places! When you really sit down and think about it, it’s incredible. Over and over and over and over again this month, God continues to reveal how He DOES have a plan, He DOES have a purpose for our lives. The biggest lesson I’m learning this month is, just say yes y’all! Yes to go to coffee with an old friend, yes to have lunch with grandma, yes to take a vacation even if you don’t think you’ll have the money, yes to try something you never have before, yes to do something that makes you uncomfortable and maybe even a little bit nauseous, yes to go out when all you feel like doing is staying in. The list goes on and on! It can be something small, or something that seems absolutely ludicrous! But do it anyway! Because it’s in these specific yes moments, that God does the unexpected! It’s where He’ll show you things you didn’t know existed, it’s where He will open your eyes, it’s where He will do something that makes you feel something you’ve never felt before. It’s there will you will meet people that will change you’re whole outlook on this life!

HERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE WELCOMED US TO LIVE IN THEIR VILLAGE THIS MONTH
THE TEACHERS WE ARE TEACHING ENGLISH TO, BROUGHT US TO VISIT ANOTHER VILLAGE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN. WE GOT TO WATCH THE LADIES MAKE INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL AND INTRICATE BASKETS, THEY FED US A MEAL, (THERE WAS MORE FOOD ON THAT TABLE FOR THE 8 OF US, THAN THERE IS AT CHRISTMAS TIME WITH THE WHOLE FAM!) AND WE GOT TO TAKE PART IN A BUDDHIST PRAYER CEREMONY. EVERYONE GOES AROUND AND TIES LITTLE WHITE STRINGS TO PEOPLES WRIST FOR “GOOD LUCK AND GOOD LIFE.” THEY WELCOMED AND TREATED US AS ONE OF THEIR OWN.
THE TEACHERS WE ARE TEACHING ENGLISH TO (PRANEE, DIT, TU, AND MEOW) HAVE TAKEN US IN! THEY ALWAYS INVITE US OVER TO DINNER, THEY INTRODUCE US TO THEIR HOME, THEY TEACH US HOW TO MAKE THAI FOOD, AND SIMPLY, HAVE JUST INVITED US INTO THEIR LIVES! BUT MOST OF ALL, THEY HAVE LOVED US SO WELL!! I LOOK FORWARD TO THE TIME WE GET TO SPEND WITH THEM EVERY MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY! THEY HAVE BECOME FAMILY! JIM & MARION, THE OTHER 2 “FALONG” IN THIS PHOTO, IS A WHOLE SEPARATE BLOG! THEY ARE OUR HOSTS FOR THE MONTH, AND IT HAS BEEN THE GREATEST BLESSING TO GET TO DO LIFE WITH THEM! GOD KNOWS WHAT WE NEED AND HE DEFINITELY GOT IT RIGHT WITH THESE TWO!!
UPDATE!! First, I just want to give a huge THANK YOU to all my supporters and encouragers! There are days when I really do just miss home and hearing from you all gives me that extra bit I need!
