Month 4 and 5 were spent in Africa. First stop was Uganda then we move on to Rwanda. The last two months have flown by, and they have fostered incredible growth and change. The Lord has been working in such mighty ways.
Month 4- Uganda
We worked with World Bridge Ministries. They work in the Mukono-Kampala region to plant churches, minister to women, and building and empowering schools. This month was the most diverse month because we went to a different community to do something different almost every day. We preached, played with kids, participated in women’s ministry, prayer walked, and more. It was such an incredible month. We saw two women accept Christ for the first time, and we all grew in our preaching abilities.
On off days we would go to Kampala to explore. We went to the Sheraton Gardens, explored the city, and searched the malls for the best wifi and American food. KFC never tasted so good. During debrief I white water rafted the Nile River. It was one of the coolest adventure experiences of my life, even though I almost died.
The Lord taught me many things. He was working in my heart about being more dependent on Him. He grew my confidence in preaching because every time I prayed for Him to give me a message to share with a group, He would, and it felt natural in delivery. If you know me at all, you know public speaking has never been my forte.
Rwanda- month 5
This month we got new teams, and I was invited to be the leader of my new team. This new team is so natural, and I love my new teammates more than I ever thought I could. I didn’t know it could get better because I had an incredible team before.
We worked with Gospel Center Church which consisted of two church plants. We preached at one of the two churches every night. In the mornings we would teach at a kindergarten for a few hours. Our main ministry was preaching. It was a challenging month because preaching every day is difficult, but there was fruit from our labor.
The Lord has taught me so much about being bold and confident in leadership. He has showed me the hunger that Rwandan people have for God, and He has called me to be more hungry for Him. He has continued to refine my preaching abilities. My host wanted to ordain me! That never would have happened before the Race.
He also taught me about His faithfulness and His provision. He provided for me to be fully funded! I never dreamed I would be able to raise close to $17,000, but He showed up and made it happen through all of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your financial support and your prayers.
Albania isn’t ready for us, but we are headed that way. The Lord is going to continue to work in and through my team, and I can’t wait to see what He does. Thank you all for your prayers, and please keep them coming. Love you all! Thanks for reading.
