Hellooooooo! Currently, I’m sitting in JFK waiting to board
a flight to Paris and then a connecting flight to Kiev, Ukraine. Whaaaaat?!
This is the most bizarre situation I have EVER been in. EVER. I’m exhausted
from saying goodbye to every single person that I love. I’m exhausted from
repeatedly letting myself wallow in panic.

A few things that I may not have updated you on….

1.
My route has changed a bit. This is our route as
of right now, but it’s likely to change:

Ukraine, Romania, Ireland, Kenya,
Uganda, Somewhere in Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, Somewhere in Asia, Guatemala
(Maybe), Nicaragua (Maybe)

I’m just going to take this moment
and acknowledge the fact that I have zero control of my life anymore. Notice
all the uncertainty just in the route. I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow,
let alone the rest of the year. Weird.

2.
I’ve got my team! I’m part of the only girls
team, and we have named ourselves “L.Chaim. It’s Hebrew for “To Life and
that’s our desire for the next year… to bring each person we encounter to life.
Life abundantly, life joyfully, life in Jesus. Sydney Sample, Emily Moss,
Cierra Burchfield, Logan Kaynes, Lili Meija, Rachelle Uribe, and myself make up
a crazy awesome team of all ladies!

Okay, I’m now writing this sitting in Lutsk, Ukraine and
it’s several days later. But I feel like it’s okay to continue the same blog
because I’m still wearing the same clothes and have not bathed. Quick recap: We
successfully flew to Paris and then Kiev, Ukraine as a squad. Once we got to
Kiev Thursday night, we jumped on a bus to the train station and set off in our
teams for our first ministry location. My team took an overnight train to Lutsk
in northwestern Ukraine. I keep using the word Ukraine, because every time I
do, I laugh at how bizarre it is to be sitting somewhere in UKRAINE. We arrived
in Lutsk at 6am and were able to meet up with our contacts and be led to our
housing for the month. We will be working with YWAM (Youth With A Mission),
which will look like serving them in any way as they transition into new
offices, helping out with a youth camp, and ministering in the community in
other ways we discover.

Here’s Logan, my little New Yorker, carrying all her crap around. That ish is heavy!

More to come but for now, I’m going to take a little nappy
nap. Thank you for your prayers so far, and please begin praying for our ministry specifically in Lutsk and our first month as a team!

Much love to you all.
