This is it. Month Eleven. The final month of this journey I've been on.
After the hellish last two months, Jesus must have know we simply couldn't take another month of hospital ministry; that we needed rest to enjoy being reunited. And that's exactly what we got!
The Sheila's are blessed beyond belief! It seems like Jesus is giving us a high five and a bag of goodies as we near the finish line.
This month we live at a retreat center in a timeshare style house, complete with hot shower, beds, kitchen, and sitting area. We also have a sand volleyball on the grounds to have our friends over.
And if that weren't fantastic enough, we live 2 blocks from the beach at Jeffery's Bay- one of the top 10 places to surf in the world!
You could say we are finally experiencing a little heaven on earth!
Not only are we spoiled with our living conditions, but our day to day activities rock too.
We are working with LXP- the Leadership Experience. They accept college age students from around the globe and through a year long program refine them into servant leaders. We will be partnering with them in several different program areas from teaching VBS to kids, to mentoring teenage girls about purity and the risks of pregnancy, to playing pick up sports with the locals.
When we aren't busy with our scheduled ministry, we are out simply making friends in the community. We are figuring out what it looks like to be imitators of Christ in the everyday activities.
And when we just need a moment to rest and breathe in, we take a stroll to the beach and take in the majesty and beauty of the ocean.
So the Sheila's are savoring every last moment of this season of life together.
We are all thrilled to finally be reunited and ready to finish strong.
Here's to a month of seeing Jesus in so many different ways; from the students and staff at LXP to the coffee shop owners to the memories and laughter with five sweet friends.
