(In Belen, Honduras at an outreach. Lizzie (center) stole my heart in less than 2 minutes)

We are living in the mountains again this month which is a taste of home! We are living about 45 minutes up the mountain outside of Gracias, Honduras, off a random dirt/mud road in a town we think is called Telon. The reason we think it is called Telon is because our contact doesn't speak a lick of English, so our Spanish skills are being stretched already and we use a lot of sign language! All seven of my teammates live together in one room in the back room of a church that looks a little something like this. Its like a giant endless slumber party! 🙂
This month we have been blessed with squatty potties and a "shower" aka dripping rain water, but we are glad to have them! And with a view like this when you open your door, who can complain?!

This month we going around the community of Telon asking people how we can help them physically and how we can pray for them. Because it is rainy season, we have already got rained out a few days, but it has been great to have a less busy schedule than last month. It has allowed time for some good team bonding! We are fed at two of the family's house's from the church for every meal, so we are getting to eat authentic cuisine. Honduras looks a lot like Guatemala except it is much more tropical here, they grow bananas and sugar cane and other tropical things!
This month is going to be a lot different than last month, but I know there are great things in store! There is a lot less structure, luxuries and translation help, but that just means there is more room for the Lord to show up! We have to come to Gracias for internet, so it will be more of an electronic free month.
Remember: No news is good news! 🙂
Although you won't be hearing from us often, please keep my team in your thoughts and prayers!
In the one week that we have been here, we have already experienced a lot of sickness and attacks.
Love to all,
Brittany
