One of my teammates (Shout out to Kate Nixon!) recently blogged about our trip. She talked about sacrifices, facts and fears of the trip. Although my sacrifices, facts and fears are not the same as her's, I though I would take a little time to share mine. This is more of an uncensored blog. It talks less about my excitement for the trip and more about my fears. I know this trip is where God has called me, but, boy am I feeling stretched. But make sure you make it to the bottom! Here it goes:
I was wondering..
Did you know…God provides?
Did you know…God works in mysterious ways through the most unexpected people?
Did you know…I have raised a little over $2000?

Did you know…I need to have $3, 500 in my account by July 1st, or the race is just a lost dream for me?
Did you know…it can take 2 weeks to process the checks that are sent in to support me?
Did you know…there is a processing fee for the Online Credit Card Donations?

Did you know…I would be FULLY FUNDED if 50 people gave $40 a month for the rest of the year?!?!? $40!!!

Did you know…I am scared out of my mind?
Did you know…I feel like Moses, thinking really God are you sure you want me? I am sure there are other better qualified.
Exodos 6:30 But Moses argued with the LORD, saying, "I can't do it! I'm such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me?"
Top 10 fears:
1. Leaving everything that familiar to me
2. Spending holidays away from my family
3. Coming back a totally changed person
4. Not meeting financial deadlines and not going at all
5. Writing funny/entertaining/motivating/inspiration blogs to supporters
6. Becoming overwhelmed by a broken world
7. Being pushed until there is nothing left of me
8. Fitting everything I need into one small backpack AND having to carry it
9. Missing out on everything that is happening in the USA
10. Getting sick on my trip
Did you know…I have had to make sacrifices?
Some racer sacrifices:
Emptying my bank account at REI buying backpacking gear
Selling my clothes in an attempt to raise some more money
Waiting anxiously for God to provide
Loosing sleep thinking about how to fundraise
Leaving my incredible job and excellent boss, not sure if I will return
Leaving the best family in the entire world
Missing a year of growth with friends
Asking others to sacrifice for my trip
But let me tell you:
Did you know…I am choosing to live in FAITH not FEAR?
Did you know…I am choosing to follow Christ to the ends of the earth?
Did you know…that God WILL provide?
Did you know…He might provide through you?
Did you know…I CAN NOT do this without you?
Did you know…I am praying for each one of you as you join me in my journey?
Did you know…I am believing this…
