Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess.

The King called her

beloved,
pure,
lovely,
complete,
chosen,
redeemed,
free,
and
anointed.

He grew gardens of flowers and
painted beautiful sunsets, all just for her.

BUT…

Somewhere along the way, she got caught up in what the world thought of her and thought other peoples' love could be better than the King's.
So she turned her back on the King.

The little princess began to find her value in the boys that could actually hand her flowers. Boys that could draw her pretty pictures. Boys that were good at sports.

They would make her feel good. They would call her pretty, nice, and sweet.

BUT…
Eventually all the boys who gave the little princess flowers, hurt her then left.

They changed their minds.
Their flowers died.
They got bored.
They decided they wanted something different.
They were gone.

This would always make the little princess feel sad and lonely, thinking she had done something wrong or wasn't worth it or wasn't beautiful or wasn't good enough.

But the King NEVER stopped loving the little princess.

No matter how far away she went or how long she was gone,
He was always watching out for her.

He still believed that she was beloved, pure, lovely, complete, chosen, redeemed, free, and anointed.

One day the little princess was in Guatemala playing in the field with little Guatemalan girls when one of them walked up and handed her a flower.

In that moment, the little princess realized that the flower wasn't from the little girl,
it was in fact from the King.

He still wanted her. He wanted her all along. He will always want her.

The little princess realized that she didn't need boys to get flowers,
there was already a King who grew beautiful gardens all for her.

She didn't need to find love in boys,
she already had the greatest love of all from the King.

The King loved her
because He loved her,
because He loved her,

because He loved her,

because He loved her,
because He loved her.

And that was enough.
