When I was called to be a missionary to 3rd world countries (BTW that is the first time I have actually said “I am to be a missionary” usually I say “GO”, feels AMAZING) I was so scared and I thought “this most definitely” is not for me. I am JUST Brittani Toole. Being a missionary doesn’t run in the family. I know that sounds funny to say that but it is exactly what I was thinking. How could God use me when I am not the worlds best Theologian, when I am just this girl who was raised her entire life in ONE home, ONE town and in ONE school. Brittani Toole is just an ordinary person.
HOWEVER,
I am an ordinary person with an extreme calling on my life to spread the word of God to people who have NOT heard the name of Jesus. I am an ordinary person called to love on people who have NOTHING, not a home, no food or clean water. I am an ordinary person who is about to travel to 11 different countries in 11 months, traveling with people I have not even met yet. I am a ordinary country girl, who has a wonderful yet ordinary family. I am an ordinary girl who just loves Jesus… ordinarily with EXTREME faith (sometimes) with that I am an ordinary person who is ordinary SCARED sometimes. I am an ordinary girl who MOST DEFINITELY messes up… like seriously y’all. BIG MESS UPS. I am an ordinary girl who loves her Dog. I am an ordinary girl who loves material things in life. I am just down right ordinary.
If you all don’t understand, I AM JUST LIKE YOU! We are ALL ordinary but so extraordinary you guys! The limitless thought God put into creating you is a million times a million. He knows the numbers of hairs on your head,he seriously says that. You are ONE in a MILLION. God used stinking Apostle Peter and Jesus KNEW he would deny him, not once but THREE stinking times. Look at Paul, he planted churches, preach the Gospel and wrote A LOT of the Bible and Paul went against the men og God. You and me are called to not live a life of ordinary things as a Christian or to just be satisfied. I read not to long ago that if we become bored as a christian we most likely will start sinning. We will look at the worldly things and start getting pulled into things that are wasteful. You can’t simultaneously have faith and be bored… really think about that.
So if you think that you are ordinary…. PLEASE read this again and again. Know that God has a PURPOSE for you and it most certainly isn’t JUST to be ordinary. I promise, God has called us to be “Crazy” Christians with love in hearts to change this CRUEL and HATEFUL world where we as Christians are told to stop doing what we are doing because it’s wrong and hurts people. We are told to sit back and be quiet because we could hurt peoples feelings and then turn them away from Christ. I BEG YOU! Do not be an ordinary Christ follower. LET THE HOLY SPIRIT Guide you and I promise you, you won’t go wrong. You won’t hurt people’s feelings but you most certainly might be shunned. I promise you that life will be EXCITING. How boring is it to just go to church on Sunday’s and Wednesday’s (If that) and then do nothing for his kingdom outside of that. Do you really think God would want that for us?! Do you really think our father would want us to not have adrenaline running through our veins constantly?! If not, why would He have made us to have that ability?! I am not saying that you are to sale everything, get on a plane in 7 months and travel with people for a year that you don’t know to spread His word. I am not saying that you need to go on a missions trip. I am not saying to go crazy here.I really believe that when you were reading this, something popped up in your mind what you are to be doing, BTW that is the Holy Spirit… don’t you live him?! Let him guide you! Maybe you didn’t have something pop up so here is a challenge. I am just asking you to simply ask one person this week, “Do you know Jesus?” if they do then ask about their story. If they don’t, ask “Really? do you mind if I tell you my story about Him?”. See how much adrenaline goes through you by just simply asking that.
I am REALLY am just an ordinary person trying to do something extraordinary for the kingdom of Christ.
Love always, Brittani
