Hello!
When reading this be encouraged and know that YOU have made a big impact on what God has done in my life this far, is doing and will continue to do. Along with that, I hope what I am about to share with you will grow your faith in Jesus.
In October 2019 I visited a friend in Philadelphia for vacation, not knowing that it would be leading up to the next BIG step in my life. I met an incredible body of believers that took me in as family. I saw an entirely different world. A Muslim community sandwiched within inner city America. As I walked through the streets, I stepped carefully as to avoid the needles all over the ground. My heart leaped as I felt a calling to join what The Block Church was doing. I came home confused and thought, “Jesus, this isn’t another country, it is The USA?!”
In September of this year, another friend who lives in the suburbs of Philly was getting married. The Lord Began to stir my heart for the trip. I began to plan not only for the wedding celebration, but also for my future in Philly. After 12 applications and no callbacks I began to get discouraged, but continued to press into the trip.
Here’s what happened while there:

The Block church moved into their first office building, with the intent of the first floor being a COFFEE SHOP.

It just so happened to be “Serve Saturday”, which is a HUGE monthly outreach with The Block.

I had meetings and heard the hearts of the leadership team, including a new non-profit they were getting ready to start called The Block Cares.
By the end of the trip there was so much peace, I knew this was where the Lord wanted me. I declared with the pastors of The Block Church that I would be coming back to Philly not as a visitor but as an Urban Missionary making Philadelphia my home.
I know many are asking “What’s next?” in your own life. I’d like to leave you with this. Let the Holy Spirit guide your big decisions and also your small ones. I dream BIG. “I’m going to sell everything” “I’m going to the middle east” “I’m going to open a coffee shop” “I will travel and share the Gospel to muslims” “I want to be involved in a Christian non- profit“, ”I want to be a CEO’s right hand woman“ ”Disaster relief is where it’s at!” The list goes on and on and here I am today, with a path set before me that has ALL these things but looks nothing like what I thought it would look like. A year ago while in Philly I wrote in my journal “I could see myself being an urban missionary here. Lord, there are SO many muslims and this community just gets me.” What is next for you is what you are doing now. Let the Holy Spirit guide your big decisions but also the small ones. He is in EVERYTHING you do.
January 11, 2021 I will be headed back out on the field to serve with The Block Church as an Urban missionary to the city of Philadelphia. The Block Church is an urban church plant with a mission to revive the city of Philadelphia one block at time. They have seen hundreds of salvations and baptisms in just 6 years and hope to keep planting neighborhood-driven churches throughout the city. I will be the administrator for their new Non-profit called The Block Cares which will be mentoring and advocating for adolescents (children and students). TBC will exist to see our kids be victorious, educated, mentored and advocated for. TBS will also serve local missions, foreign missionaries/ trips, food banks and foster care. With that I will be scheduling meetings and coordinating events with TBC and the community. I will be researching strategic partnerships and opportunities for The Block Cares in full time ministry.
