International qualifications to teach English:

Speak English
Therefore, I am a Teacher.
Our ministry this month is teaching English at a Free Learning Center, It’s called “Friendship Center”. A christian doctor from the states moved his family to Siem Reap to erect this organization to bring university students to Jesus. In Cambodia, it is illegal to bring the word of Jesus out in public, however, if the students come to us. . we can teach them whatever we’d like to teach them. This is where it all starts. . .
This is the Friendship Center
Charles and I teach a class from 5-6PM usually anywhere from 1-5 students come to this evening class. The school is in the ‘off’ season at the moment so classes are much smaller. On Wednesday evening, Dara was the only student who showed up.
Charles and I asked him what he’d like to learn about (we’d already done American Culture, Holiday’s, Travel and grammar ) He said he would like to read something in English to practice his pronunciation.
The only book in the room was my bible. . So I handed it to Dara and we opened to Romans 8, He began reading. .
LET’S PAUSE: PLEASE imagine mine and Charles’ reaction. . . we are in a small room. . reading about JESUS CHRIST in the middle of Cambodia. . The sound of Romans 8 has never been so sweet!!
Dara stops after a few moments and says, “So what does this all mean?” That’s when it happened. . . we presented to him the Gospel. . . we shared creation, the fall, Jesus’ brith, and death. . .
He asked about prayer and How to know Jesus. . The moment was sweet, almost not realistic, it seemed so simple. It was just another one of many divine appointments!
I asked Dara if he wanted to know this Jesus Guy. . . and he said, “well, yes, but it’s time to go”. . Class was over. . Charles and I laughed, as we walked out of the room.
THIS is why we are here. . God is Good!
Love you all!!
