Last week was the first week of WOMANistry. Do you know what that entails? I don’t know what you’re first thought was, but I am just assuming you probably weren’t thinking we’re building a school. Yes, all the men are gone and so we go to a construction site.
Some people run at the sound of manual labor, but I have a great relationship with it, and I really like it! Part of my team has worked there before, but because we split up amongst all of our ministries everyday I just haven’t made it into the Global group until this week. So when my feet first landed on Global soil last Tuesday I was ready!
Global is going to be a Christian high school. Land was donated a few years ago, and every step of the way they have asked God what the plans are. They will accept 250 students in the first year, but it is expected to grow each year. I don’t know a lot because I missed the introduction, but the more I hear about it the more I love it. I love going upstairs in their cute cabin they let us use as a place for our lunch breaks and seeing everything from sports fields to the eco-friendly environment “blueprints”.
I went home tired each day but also energized for the next just knowing that each stroke of a brush, each move of a shovel, board, brick, wheelbarrow, nail, screw or scaffolding will one day be someone’s education. One thing I have learned on the race is to appreciate that opportunity because it’s truly one of the biggest blessings I have received!
As we walk through 2016 I want to be prepared. I want to be in prayer for everything. I don’t want to start building a school without a blueprint; likewise, I do not want to start building God’s kingdom without prayer. I want to spend more nights in prayer and not make a move without first taking it to the Lord. Otherwise, I am discerning in self-righteousness, instead of His righteousness. This year I want to be caught in prayer confidently without doubts and hesitations.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
-John 15:16
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
-Philippians 4:6
This is just one example of our ministries in South Africa and it just happens to be my favorite! This week we will most likely be all over Jeffrey’s working on farms, construction sites, and schools. Please keep us women in your prayers and please keep our men in your prayers as they traveled to Lesotho last week for their MANistry month!
Happy New Year!
Much Love,
Britt
