This morning I woke up early. Far earlier than I had set my alarm for. This has happened more in the past month than in my whole life. 6AM rolls around and RING goes my body clock-time to wake up and start the day Britta!

This morning was a little bit different though…

I crawled out of bed and turned on my favorite yoga playlist featuring songs about love-God's love, how to extend God's love, and the need to love others at all times.

Love.

Love the Lord, love the people. It's all we're called to do. Yes, we do more, but the most important, the greatest is l-o-v-e.

In pops Ziggy Marley's "Love is My Religion".

Love is my religion says he.

Well, Ziggy, love is my religion too.

It's what my God is. It's what Jesus instructs me to do. It's how the Holy Spirit guides my every action.

I never realized just how much Ziggy Marley and I had in common (beyond our hairstyle).

Then I began to think about how we all have so much more in common than we realize.

At the very base of each of us, is the Lord.

God created each one of us.

There is not one person in the world that you will make eye contact with that God did not create, that Jesus does not love, that we are not called to love.

Thank you for the lyrics that inspire us to live more like Jesus. Who would have thought today's inspiration to live out God's love would come from Ziggy Marley?
