Maybe even 11th month of the race.
You're maybe even fully funded.
You've sent mailers.
Newsletters.
You've posted in the newspaper.
On the side of the road.
In your local coffee shop.
You've made it through your first travel experience.
Your second.
Your third.
You've given love to the loveless.
Hope to the hopeless.
Rest to the restless.
You've been hungry.
You've been repulsed.
You've been tired.
You've been over caffeinated.
You've seen beauty.
And you've seen ugly.

You miss your World Race Family.
That you haven't met.
That you haven't seen in a year…or more.
You miss the children.
The orphans.
The widows.
The lost.
The saved.

You feel over worked.
Stretched thin.
Sick.

It's funny to me how I haven't even been on the race, yet it still effects me. I am homesick for people I have never met, I am hurting for people I haven't said goodbye to yet, and I am exhausted by balancing working 60+ hours a week, fundraising, and bible study. Last night, at my bible study we watched a video by "The Skit Guys". I will post a link to the video, but I will also paste the dialog for people who might not have the wifi to support the video. The video is about a man, desperate to become the masterpiece God intended him to be. God begins to chisel pieces away…dark, dirty pieces. Hurts, Habits, Hang ups…the whole lot. At one point the man turns to God and says:

"It's just…God, I have let you down so many times."

To which God responds:

"NO my Child! You were never holding me up. I hold YOU up with my Victorious, Righteous, right hand, and don't you ever forget that! In this relationship;
I
HOLD
YOU
UP
."

Are you even able to GRASP the power of that statement? HE HOLDS US UP. We can't let Him down. We can't get by on our own strength. BY HIS STRENGTH ALONE WILL YOU GET THROUGH THIS! He holds you up with his VICTORIOUS, RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND. He is there with you as you sift through pictures of your family back home, and your family you have yet to meet. He is there with the children, widows, and squad members you haven't seen or have contact with. He is there, holding you up when you feel like you cannot take another step. You are not holding God up. Let that weight and burden be taken from your shoulders! You are cradled in his arms as he creates you to be the strong, beautiful, work of art that you are designed to be!
