Reading the title, I bet you thought I was going to write about the majestic throne of the universe.

Nope.
I am talking about the throne that you sit on periodically throughout the day. The place where you can escape and just breathe if you are surrounded by chaos, or the place where you go simply because you have to.
Have you figured it out yet?
People, I am talking about a toilet.

Yep.
Confused?
Well, in college, a brilliant woman would post letters on the doors of all the stalls in the dorms. These letters would be filled with random thoughts, wisdom, scripture, and any other wonderful nuggets that you could chew on while handling your business.
I thought they were delightful. It gave you something to read and it filled you with fresh bread from heaven.
Sometimes I would take them down and keep them because the words jumped straight off the page and into my heart. I wanted to remember and reflect on them again one day.
Today is that day.
I read these words during some of my most broken times, and tucked them away until now, about four years later. They were taped to the back of the door of the stall located in my college dorm: Strasberg 2. Oh the college days.

Can I share them with you?
These words are taken from Romans 12.
Enjoy. Eat em up.
“Place Your Life Before God”
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us, not by what we are and what we do for Him.
Let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t.
Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Be good friends who love deeply.
Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.
Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.
Get the best of evil by doing good.
Take those thoughts and ponder em next time you head to your throne 😉
Love love love.

Shout out: Becky Bradley. The woman behind the “Thoughts from the Throne” thanks for pouring into me and all the other women that you have encountered. The seeds you planted are still sprouting all these years later. Bask in the taste of fruit from your labor. Love you, miss you. Tell J-Rod heeeeey and give your little one a kiss from me. Thankful for you.
