Hey everyone! With 9 days left until I’m back in America, I thought I’d let everyone know what I’m doing next year.
Next year, I will be attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and majoring in Intercultural Studies. For those of who don’t know, Moody is a school that sets people up to do long-term missions after graduation; from becoming missionaries to Pastors. With my major of Intercultural Studies, I will be learning how to preach the gospel in different cultures as well as studying the Bible.
This decision was hard to make, I was grateful to be born in America and be offered a myriad of opportunities and things to do with my life, but I have to say it was overwhelming the things I could do. When I was praying for what the Lord wanted me to do, he highlighted that I will be a missionary oversees later in my life. Hearing this, I was ecstatic and was ready to pack my bags and move to Myanmar (I love Myanmar) for the rest of my life. A few days later, He told me that my faith is still needing some growth before I go off and move somewhere. Immediately, Moody popped into my head and so I knew I had to apply.
I got the confirmation I needed when I was talking with some of my squamates and they said their teammate, also my friend, Hannah had applied to Moody. We hadn’t caught up yet after being away from each other for the month. I knew this was the Lord’s provision because we hadn’t even discussed that Moody was an option for our futures.I was nervous about building another strong community from scratch for the second year in a row but God took care of that when I found out Hannah was applying.
I am really excited to get the opportunity to study the bible more and to learn from people who are so knowledgable about missions and what it takes to do it on a long term basis.
I am also so grateful that I was able to have this season on the World Race to figure out my next steps and for learning things this year that helped me realize my dreams of missions in a foreign country. Without this year, I would be making very different life decisions, very much outside of the will of God. I am grateful the Lord brought me around the world to tell me how He wants to use me and my passions that he instilled in me to bring kingdom. And I know that if it hadn’t been for all of you reading this, then I wouldn’t be here, so I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for obeying the Lord and giving sacrificially to my Race.
Like I said above, i’ll be home in 9 days and would love to catch up with every single one of you and thank you face to face.
Love you all!
