Woo hoo another week in the books in Guatemala! God is teaching me so much and I’m loving hanging out with my new friends at ministry. Wednesday was our last day at ministry. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone but I’m excited for Thailand! (a new blog coming up about my last month!)

This week isn’t about me though. My friend Alexus is still fundraising and I wanted to tell you a little bit more about her and her heart in hopes that you would consider donating. She still has $3400 to raise by January in order to be able to stay on the field.

A little about Alexus Peavy: From the moment you meet Alexus, you want to become friends with her. She exudes kindness and authenticity, and you can find yourself trusting her before you even know her. But once you do, you know that she loves others with such intentionality and compassion.

She is always there to listen to you and gives the best advice, which always points back to the Lord. She shows Jesus by being a big sister on the squad, discipling us, even if she doesn’t know that she is.

How do these qualities make her an awesome missionary?
How could they not? She makes the people who are usually cast aside by others feel loved and worthy. Sound familiar? It’s exactly what Jesus did! Alexus is also fearless and isn’t afraid to share her faith with others, even if it’s scary and/or awkward.

Don’t just take my word for it- I asked Alexus a few questions so that you might be able to get a glimpse into her wisdom and get to know her!

Why did you come on the world race?

1.Obedience- the Lord asked me to come on this trip. At first the Lord asked me to go on the 11 in 11 trip (for those of you who don’t know, it’s the same thing we’re doing, but instead of 4 countries in 9 months, they do ministry in 11 countries in 11 months). I wasn’t keen on doing that because I felt like I wouldn’t be able to develop lasting relationships with people in a month. So we compromised; doing gap year was a better fit because I could be in one place for 3 months, where I could disciple people and get to know them on a more personal level. So here I am!
2.To figure out my next step in life- stepping into adulthood.

What has been your favorite thing about Guatemala?

The people- house visits, talking to people in the market and the chicken bus. Their hospitality, and their willingness to not only let you into their house but also their heart.

What is your favorite thing about serving God?

Everyday that I choose him instead of my fleshly desire, I get closer to him and therefore I know more of his character and who he is.

What is He teaching you now?

That I’m worth more than I tell myself or how people make me feel.

Now that you know a little more about Alexus, I want to ask you all if you would consider donating. Alexus is such a light wherever she goes, and God has huge plans for the Kingdom through her. Please consider donating so that she can stay on the field and continue to show people the love of Christ.

How do you donate? Glad you asked! You can go to her blog (http://alexuspeavy.theworldrace.org) and click the donate button at the top of the page. The website will direct you from there. Every little bit helps and keep in mind that all donations are tax-deductible, which is awesome since the new year is coming up!

Thanks for reading! I love you guys!
