I’m Brigit Southall, nickname Brig. I’m 25, born in February 1991. I have a Bachelors degree in History with a minor in German and a MBA with a specialization Healthcare Management. I’ve lived in West Virginia all my life but I love to travel. I’ve been to 13 countries, with my first major travel experience in 2011 when I studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria. I teach pre-school classes at my church, as well as fill in for grade school or nursery when I am needed. I also work full-time as an insurance agent where I am licensed to sell Accident/Health, Life, and Property & Casualty insurance.

I enjoy being artistic. I take photographs, paint, draw, etc. I also love to crochet, bake, play the piano, hike, read, and enjoy the simple things in life like a Friday evening with family.

I heard about the World Race in 2014 from a high school friend who posted on social media about her best friend raising funds for her trip. I was curious and did some research but decided that it was not the time for me to go since I was still in school. I pushed it to the back of my mind until early 2016 when someone spoke at my Grandma and Grandpas church about their latest mission trip. I prayed and decided to apply for the race for a January 2017 route leave. After many months of application completion and prayer, I was accepted. I switched to route 1 August 2017 after much debate on fundraising. I am excited for this journey!
