We have recieved news on the flooding that is happening in Mozambique, Africa.

assive flooding in central Mozambique, was made worse by last week’s arrival of tropical cyclone Favio. Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in the world. The floods that cut through the Zambezi basin has killed a little over 40 people and has forced about 165,000 people from their homes just before the harvest. The majority of displaced families is living in makeshift settlement areas with limited or no food, water, sanitation facilities or shelter.´
It seems to me as though no one is moving…televisions are not filled with footage…relief aid (for the most part) is not being sent. Those I´ve talked to from home, had no idea the flooding even happened.
A friend and I were mugged and chased 2 weeks ago only a block from our house here in Peru. People stood all around us. Families were eating steps away from where we were. But no one helped. It was strange to be in an area where no one wanted to help you in a time of need. When many people were capable of helping…but stood back and did nothing.
(after reading that last sentence I think to myself how many times have I done this, but in different situations.)
When 9-11 hit…people rushed together to help one another.
When Katrina came and devistated the cost…hundreads went to help.
Mozambique was recently hit with a tripical cyclone.
Not many are going to help.
Not much aid is being sent.
The media isn�Lt covering it.
Our route was to travel to South Africa from Argentina. We are now possibly heading straight to Mozambique to help in relief from the flooding. If you know me, you know how important Africa is to me. It holds a huge part of my heart. I�Lm so excited to get to be a part in helping out this relief. Where it seems no one is helping…we get the opportunity to help.
Where is God in despair? Where is He in devistation? Where is He when everything is lost? I think He is there…Right in the middle of the situation. Right in the middle of
Mozambique. Iœ¶ still learning… Learning that life on this earth is not fair nor pleasant at times.
Please begin to pray for the people of Mozambique. Search out ways you can help. Your eyes have now been open to a major need in our world. Many have lost everything. Children are displaced. Medicine, food and clean water are no where in site. Pray with me that God would be in the middle of this situation and that somehow those who have lost would see and find hope.
