Yet another food blog! I know you are excited!!!!
Hope to give you all an idea of the food we have available to us. Antigua is a pretty big city…among all the custom foods we also have the ability to sneak off to get McDonalds and Burger King if we want. Both of those restaurants are located here in Antigua. Foods in Guatemala are pretty similar to those in Mexico. I took a few pictures to give you an idea of the food here. Tortillas still roam freely!
Vegetable soup…this is the BEST meal I had in Antigua (thanks Jenny!)
soup and black refried beans
Random local foods…beans, steak, fish, salad, etc.
and this is me having Guatemala Hot Chocolate…its made with a chunk of chocolate that you just cook down in either milk or water…yummm (ps…my hair is a little crazy) 🙂
*And now some pics from the market*
BEEF…it’s whats for dinner…
hmm most meat here in Antigua isn’t in the fridge…its out ALL day long…
Chicken in the market…also just out there…(you can see the chicken feet to the right)
yum yum yum…don’t cha wish you had some…
Dried Fish in the market…
And of course there is fresh fish…how cold do those ice cubes actually keep stuff 🙂
Of course lots and lots of good fruit from the market!!! It is ridiculously cheap
and my FAVORITE of all…Carmel ice cream cones for only about .33 cents US money.
