I just want to take a moment and acknowledge the AMAZING culinary skills of my wonderfully talented teammate Talia Ruth Barnes. She has kept us very well fed these last 3 weeks and is always coming up with creative new ways to prepare noodles, rice, chicken, and tortillas. (I would never think to add pears and walnuts to pasta and chicken, but it was awesome!) We’ve been truly blessed!
Last night she outdid herself once again. Being as yesterday marked the end of our 4th week here in Mexico, she decided it was time to spoil us a little. She quickly shooed us all out of the kitchen as she prepared our surprise, then stuck it in the freezer for later and made us all promise not to peek. Around 8pm she yelled for everyone to grab a spoon for the grand unveiling. Drum role please………………………………
A huge bowl of CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DOUGH!!!! Come on now…who hasn’t dreamed of eating an entire bowl of cookie dough by the spoonful?! It was amazing! She had secretly picked up a bag of chocolate chips in Palenque last weekend, and I think she was just as excited to make it for us as we were to eat it. This was definitely the best surprise I’ve had I long time!! Thanks Tal, I love you!
