As the torrential downpour of rain continues outside, and I
have little hope of leaving our hostel today, I figured I’d give ya’ll a little
update on life.
Our time in Africa is drawing to a close, and team YETI
decided to take our last few days and make a short trip to Cape Town. Although
it’s been raining pretty much non-stop since we got here, we outran the rain
long enough yesterday to spend a few amazing hours down at Cape Point (the
southernmost point in Africa.) Here’s a few
pictures from our time thus far…
Crossing the border
from Swaziland to South Africa

After 6 hrs in a van
we made it to the airport!

Welcome to Capetown!

My cousin Kyle just
finished missionary training in South Africa,
and was spending a few days in Cape town before
heading to Nepal
for the next 18 months. We managed to track each other down and got together
for dinner the night before he left.

Yesterday we drove
down the coast and saw PENGUINES!!! So cute!

Other great scenery

Then we went down to
Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope

They aren’t kidding
when they say it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world!

to watch the sunset

We found a cave and
decided it would make a nice photo spot

Gorgeous!

And finally, dinner
on the wharf before heading home.
What a day!!!
Unfortunately, our luck with the weather ran out, and we’ve
been literally rained in all day today. I like the rain though, and since we’ve
seen very little of it since Mexico,
I’m going to enjoy it! Tomorrow we fly back to Johannesburg to meet up with all the other
teams for debrief. August 1 we’ll leave Africa and fly to Bangkok, Thailand
for our next month of ministry.
Much Love!
