Today is the official end of Month two. It seems like I left Arizona only yesterday. Since month two is officially over it is time to reveal my word for the month. My word this month is:
LEARNING
It’s crazy how much I have learned this month. Not only about myself but about my team and how much I can help in the world. To me mission work was always over seas. Sure I have helped in my own community but I just considered that as volunteer work. In the past two months I have learned that all the work I have done in Arizona is actually mission work.
I have also learned a lot more ways I can help. While in North Carolina we helped our hosts neighbors clear a path on her property in the woods so she can turn it into a laser tag course. It was amazing to see how many people went out to help. We cleared out so much wood that it took several days to burn all of the loose wood. I wish I had a before and after picture but I don’t.

I also came to learn how blind so many people in the U.S. are to so much that happens in the U.S. There are several people in the U.S. who don’t even realize that prostitution exists in the U.S. Or even think that prostitution is similar to what happens in the movie “Taken.” It could not be more different. When we went to Knoxville, Tennessee we worked with former World Racers in an anti trafficking ministry. One day they sat us down and told us about the realities of prostitution in the U.S. There goal is to inform the U.S. about the realities of prostitution in the U.S. Having been in the Police Academy I knew about the way prostitution is here in the U.S. I never realized how few people knew about prostitution in the U.S.
Also in this month I have learned a lot about myself. I learned a lot about how much I can push myself. No matter how tired I am I can still get the job done. I also learned how much I love organizing things as well as painting. I painted a huge portion of a fence at a ministry by myself. I shut the whole world out and just painted. It was amazing.

The past two months I have learned so much and I can’t wait to see how much I learn throughout the year.
