The World Race
Happy New Years friends and family! It’s hard to believe that another year has passed and that it is now 2010! As many of you know, I will be leaving in September 2010 on an 11 month mission trip called The World Race with Adventures in Missions to spread the love of Jesus Christ in 11 different countries. Who is Adventures in Missions?

Adventures in Missions (AIM) is an interdenominational mission organization that is based in Gainesville, GA. AIM has sent 80,000 people all over the world to be the hands and feet through Jesus by praying for the sick, bringing hope to the hopeless, caring for orphans, etc. AIM has sent out families, junior high students, high school students, college students, and adults to ministries all over the world.
What is the World Race?

Adventures in Missions has developed the World Race, which is an 11 month program for people in their 20’s and 30’s. While on the race, participants travel the world, ministering in a different country each month. AIM selects committed Christ followers to go and be the hands and feet of Jesus, to pray with the dying, love the orphaned children, bring hope to women trapped in prostitution, and bring the light of Christ to some of the darkest places on Earth.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for each of the countries that my team will be ministering in. I will be posting informational blogs about each country at http://bridgetmcnamara.theworldrace.org
2. Pray for all the men and women on the September 2010 team that are currently in the application and preparation stages for the World Race.
3. Pray for the support raising aspect of this trip. Pray for supporters as they seek out God’s will for their part in this ministry.
Support Update
Thank you so much for the donations that have already come in! I appreciate the conversations about the World Race, the prayers, the donations, and all the ways you all have shown your support! We currently have raised $827 toward the $14,300 goal as of January 17, 2010! There are seven full months until I leave for India during the first week of September. We have $13,473 to go, which means $1924.71 needs to be raised per month until September. I have already had people commit or pray about a monthly donation ranging from $5 per month to $100 per month. I will probably say this many times, but no amount is to small! If 15 people commit to $15 per month that will already be $2700! Would you consider committing to a monthly gift to support me?
How can I donate?
1. You can send a check to Adventures in Missions at P.O. Box 534470 Atlanta, GA 3035-4470. You will need to include my support card, or write “Appealed by Bridget McNamara” in the memo line. This is VERY important. If not, your donation will go to the general fund for the World Race. If you need a new support card, please let me know and I will put it in the mail immediately!
2. You can donate with debit or credit card through my blog: http://bridgetmcnamara.theworldrace.org. You will see a Support Me! Link on the left hand side. You will then be able to follow the directions to make your donation. On the first page you will select “support a racer” and then type in my name. Please note that 5% of your donation will be deducted from my support account when using a credit card to pay for fees from the credit card company.
3. You can follow the steps of #2, but you will choose “bank draft option”. This will not withdraw any fees from my account.
4. Remember that ALL donations are tax-deductible!
What are my options?
You will be able to choose if you would like to make a one-time, monthly, or quarterly donation. Your donation can be automatically withdrawn if you use a credit card, debit card, or bank draft option.
How else can I help?
Many of you have asked if there are any other ways you an help. Here are a few options!
1. I’m praying about how to get the word about this mission trip. Do you belong to a small group, Bible study, church, etc? I would love the opportunity come and speak with groups about this trip!
2. Would you consider spreading the word? I’m working a basic informational sheet about our ministry that can be shared with people. Would you be interested in passing these out to a few of your friends or family? If you are, please let me know how many informational sheets you would like!
3. Invite your friends and family to fundraisers! I’m currently applying for a “Fundraiser Night” at a local restaurant in February or March. I will receive between 15% and 20% of all proceeds from the night. I’m really excited about this event! It will be more than just a fundraiser, but a time to fellowship with one another!
4. Do you or someone you know need a babysitter or tutor? I am an experienced 3rd grade teacher that has 2 ½ years of teaching experience, summer school experience, tutoring experience, and many years of babysitting experience! All money I earn will go directly towards the miscellaneous funds for the World Race. (immunizations, international health insurance, monthly student loan bill, supplies, etc.)
