1:30PM EST or 12:30PM

My next few days will be full of firsts! My first, second, and third time up in the sky and my first time away from the U.S. All the firsts that come with flying overseas: airport security, airplane food, sleeping on a plane, using an airplane bathroom to freshen up, layovers, etc. I’ll be honest with you, I’m loving it! It’s been so fun to spend time with my team and experience new things. It’s such a comfort to know that I have a group of 14 teammates who are ready to answer my first timer questions, help me through new situations, and keep me company. Basically, my team is awesome!

I’m so pumped to be traveling and I want to share a small scope of what’s happened so far. This morning my team and I woke up at 4am to clean, pack, and prepair to leave. It was cold, but we all managed to pack into the vans before anyone got too frozen. I was able to get some blissfull sleep on the hour and a half ride to the Atlanta Airport. After only one close call with a missing passport, the girls and I made it to our gate with plenty of time. Once on the plane, we were served a yummy dinner and I started adjusting my sleep schedule for the Philippines.

The Philippines is 11 hours ahead of EST, meaning I needed to take a nap from 2pm-8pm EST to start adjusting. Thankfully the flight has been serving dinner and breakfast on Filipino time! My game plan is to pretend to sleep when I’m supposed to be sleeping and pretend to be wide awake and active in the “daytime.” Now the challenge will be to stay awake until night time (or 8am EST)!
Layover in Seoul
I’m sitting in an isle seat, which is awesome because of the ease of getting up and moving around when I need to. I’m not sure how the gentlemen beside me are faring. I don’t think they’ve gotten up to move even once! Although they do not speak english, my neighbor was kind enough to help me out when I couldn’t find my headphone plug in. Here’s the brief flight itinerary for our team. I appreciate all your prayers! Please keep it up!
