“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1
Worship is a lifestyle to me. Worship is a constant connection between myself and the Creator. It is prayer, singing, weeping, talking, loving, reading, hearing, receiving, giving. It is a relationship. It is a lifestyle.
I’ve been reading the book of Job. I get the chills whenever I read in Job 1:21:
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
I think what Job is saying is everything is God’s in the first place and I bless His name regardless of what I have at the moment.
How hard it must have been for Job to loose everything, his wealth, family, possessions, health. Yet he still worshiped God! I bet God was so blessed by this. As we know from reading the end of Job, God gave him back everything and more.
I don’t want a mediorecore Christian life.
I certainly don’t want to be a lukewarm Christian.
I want to be a God fearing Christian man after the things of God, not after the things of this world. And yes, I’ve counted the cost. It is worth it.
