I never expected to preach in a church my third day on the World Race. With the help of a translator I gave a message out of Ephesians 2:10, created for good works. The moment I stepped out of the car I noticed a severely crippled man, introduced myself and started praying for him. Once I walked into the church I saw how much joy these people had and felt so welcomed by them. While we speak different languages and come from totally different backgrounds, we serve and love the same God.
Prior to giving the message I had complete peace about speaking in front of such a large audience. I had confidence God’s Spirit would speak through me to the people. I remember after 15 minutes of speaking just ditching my notes and asking God to give me the right words to say. Using a translator actually made this easier as I had a minute or two to think of what I would say next. It was exciting to do this as I was dependent upon God to give me the right words to say and Scripture to read.
I thank God everyday for giving me this opportunity to be here. I’ll often get the chills while driving down the streets of India because I realize how fortunate I am both to be here as a missionary but also of how much I have as an American. The people here have so little yet have so much happiness in their daily life. It’s truly refreshing. My cheeks have been sore from smiling so much everyday. I’ve never been happier in my life.
I’m at an orphanage now and love it so much here. I can’t wait to be a father one day and have kids of my own.
I would like to thank all my financial supporters back home for helping make this dream of mine become a reality. I am overwhelmed by your generosity.
I’ll be posting a video soon of our month in India.
With much love,
Brian
