In 26 days I will be 26! In honor of my birthday there is no other gift in this entire world that would mean more to me than a $26 donation towards my mission trip. You may do so by clicking the support me link.
God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in Him.
I have shed many tears during this season of my life. Perhaps this is why I am glued to the Psalms at this time. Here are three Psalms which have spoken to me:
1.) “My flesh and my heart fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” Psalm 73:26
2.) “This I know, because God is for me” Psalm 56:9
3.) “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry” Psalm 34:15
God has taught me to be content even in the most uncomfortable situations of life. I am only able to do this by focusing on Him. Which means staying in His Word and worship. Yes, worship is beautiful during distress. It is glorious!
I believe God is most glorified when we – His children – are most satisfied in Him.
Was I most satisfied in Him selfishly pursuing my career?
No.
Was I most satisfied in Him when all was going well?
No.
Was I most satisfied in Him that day I closed my first deal?
No.
I am most satisfied in God at this very moment.
God has a way of revealing Himself to those who earnsly seek Him. In James 4:8 it says:
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
I’ve been able to experience the presence of God in a way that satisfies the deepest longings of my soul.
I am most satisfied in Him during the deepest, darkest, hardest part of my life I have ever gone through. I am being refined by the fire:
“For you, O God, have tested us;
You have refined us as silver is refined.
You brought us into the net;
You laid affliction on our backs.
You have caused men to ride over our heads;
We went through fire and through water;
But you brought us out to rich abundance”
Psalm 66:10-12
