I have no idea what’s ahead in life after the race. I do know the Lord spoke to me, in fact quite a few times, about these next 10 years being some of the best. Ever. It’s a reminder to me He is in control of my life. A life surrendered to Him feels so free. I think what’s so unique about surrendering a life to God is it’s giving the Lord permission to write His story for your life.

Many are familiar with Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” And perhaps Proverbs 3:5-7 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

These are two of my favorite bible versus about trusting in His plan for my life. The crazy thing is He knows me intimately (Psalm 139). His knowledge of me, as His child, is beyond me. The first time I read Psalm 139 I was in awe. He knows me this well? He does.

How can we, the church body, try to tell the world around us about His great love for us? This is a love unheard of in this day and age. Fortunately, some Christians have a spiritual gift called the gift of evangelism. These are the Billy Graham’s and Greg Laurie’s. Others, like myself, might not be gifted in evangelism but that doesn’t mean I am not sharing my faith.

My goal has been to share my faith and love for the Lord to others by living a life acceptable to God according to the Scriptures. By loving others even when they have hurt me (this is a hard one!). Not pursuing revenge. Not gossiping. Helping someone out who genuinely needs a helping hand. Things like this. Eventually, people notice. And once they notice, that’s when Christ shines.
