Our ministry in Morogoro, Tanzania, this month has been pretty relaxing. We teach/preach/give testimonies in the evening church services and occasionally go out and do evangelism/speak at schools during the day. We spend a lot of time with our African family, which consists of Pastor Albinus and his wife Debora (whom we've affectionately nicknamed Albie and Debbie) and their six children. We've only met four of the six – the other two live away from home. They have treated us like true family this month and we love spending time with them, mostly relaxing under their mango tree.
Life is Africa is easy-going and it's been really nice having a lot of time to relax.
Thanks to my squadmate, Layne Kulhanek, I have a camera to use! He has two Canon Rebels on his team, so he graciously has allowed me to borrow his until I can figure out what to do about my broken 5D. It's amazing, sometimes, living in true Christian community.

mangos! we relax under them and eat them. they are so good.

elijah, our african brother, and innocent, his/our friend and translator. i like innocent because he has the same name as one of my favorite book characters, innocent smith.

alex! the son of esther, our african sister. he was scared of us at first, but now he likes us.

jeremiah, another brother. so goofy and sweet.

most of our meals look like this – rice, beans and greens.

debbie making us some food.

sometimes kids tolerate us…

and sometimes we literally make them cry. kids tend to be scared of us "mzungus"
