This is one of the coolest type of ministry opportunities I have encountered. India Christian Ministries and A.I.M. have sort of partnered up with a goal. That`s to have a World Race Fore-front initiative of helping to start up a church in just one of the thousand villages here in the Province of Andhra Prahdesh. India Christian Ministries long-term goal is to have a church in each village, and there is a certain process they`re going about with this. Thus far, they have started and run about 2,300 churches thus far. This ministry raises up their own pastors, or other independent`s join along. The process starts by sending a pastor to what they call a mandale, this is a decent size city in each of the districts (50 mandale`s in a district) within a province. So we are partnering up with the very beginning stages of going into a specific village given to us, World Race. We are given basically free roam and power of going about how to have church, encountering the children and adults. We are to go about the communities of this specific village creating interest in who God and Jesus is, and basically Christianity. It`s pretty mind-blowing to me.
There`s only about 2% Christianity here in India, but from what I`ve been told, many people are very open to the views and concepts of Christianity. The people here in this part of India are mostly Hindu with some Muslim. There is Definitely a Wonderful opportunity of increasing the Faith of the Believers here and being able to bring so many more to Christ.
This part is now where I ask You, whoever is reading this blog for a chance to help us out. In with this process of starting up a church in a never-before reached village, it is to build the first church. This first church is only a temporary shelter before they have a guaranteed amount of people to build the real solid church. Please let me explain, in Indian culture, they are attracted to and take things more serious when there is a specific meeting location/temple. With this first temporary shelter, ICM has already a drawn out plan of what is needed for this shelter.
Each temporary shelter costs $2,000. The final church structure that they are able to build, specifically when the church reaches a certain number of people costs about $10,000. However, ICM already has someone commit to donating funds to supply the Final church structure. We are literally going out into the “unknown” with this ministry. My teammates and I are asking for people to consider with donating money towards this project.
Please bring this up with your friends, bible study groups, churches, and whomever about this opportunity. For example; 10 people donating $10 will be $200. Each of my teammates, along with another team we are with are trying to ask for about $200 from our people we know. This opportunity is for real, there are no gimmicks, we are on the fore-front end of starting up this church from basically scratch. Please pray and consider helping to support us whether prayerfully or financially. We will be living in the middle of nowhere for 15 days with NO running water or electricity, and God`s doing something BIG in India.
For those who think through ideas (haha), the World Race/A.I.M. will continue to come to this area of India and will work with ICM. This funding and proposition is not just a “hit and run” type ministry. Right after our Squad leaves India, R-Squad will be here and will more than likely send a team or 2 to continue what we are doing. Just wanted to clarify that.
