This idea has been on my heart for a while, and I even have had a difficult time in the past in doing such. Please read through, thanks!
A quick flashback to Kenya, when 2 squad-mates (Amy Heiser & Jenny Ellis) talked to and prayed for a man in the slums of Nairobi. He was blind in 1 eye and rejected to being prayed over by my friends. After talking more with this man, they asked again if he’d like to receive prayer, and he accepted. 3 prayers later the man could see shadows, and 3 days later he received full restoration of sight in his eye!
Crazy, but True Story. The thing that sticks out to me in this story is that the man initially didn’t want to get prayed over. If he had stuck with that he would possibly be still blind in 1 eye to this day. He might of had pride that was in the way of allowing 2 random women to pray over him and more importantly, Give God a Chance to Show Up. Sound familiar?

Is this like you? (not really the picture) Some of the time, all of the time? OR, are you one who thinks about giving God a chance in Your Life? However, you’re so hesitant/timid you really didn’t do it in the end. What’s frustrating to me is that non-believers who are thinking maybe about giving God and Christianity a chance see the ones who call themselves “Christian” and don’t really see much of a difference in their lives. There are tons of confessing Christians don’t really allow God truly into their lives with struggles, because their faith is so weak and maybe their pride is in the way too.
How do I know? Well, because I was once of “them”. Yea I believed in God, but I sure as heck didn’t open up myself to Him even during the painful times. I thought that I could handle my problems and issues without anyone’s help. I had the external pressure of society telling me this too, since I’m a “man” and I shouldn’t show weakness or in need of help. I never really gave God a chance to WORK in My Life.
The Maker of the Universe, of You, and I gives US the CHOICE to whether Seek after Him of Not. He doesn’t Force us, and as a Loving Father He warns us of the risk we take if we don’t repent of our sins and Proclaim Him Lord of All. God’s Unfathomable Love towards us is Never Changing. No matter what we do, He will Still Love us. What Does chance is Our Ability to Receive His Love. A Love that casts out Fear. A Love that’s stronger than Death. Yet, we sit in church week after week after week bored and not experiencing this Love. We Have to be Willing and Open our Hearts to Him and seriously ask Him into Us. An Action, by some means, Must take place on our part to really Experience Him.
What If? What if God Doesn’t come in a way our hearts and situations so that we can see/feel Him. What if He Does? You Never Know Unless you give Him a chance.
For the non-believers. You may have once been a Christian and never really got anything out of a relationship with God. I have no right to judge anyone, but when you Were once a believer, did you Seriously pursue God and Open Your Heart to Him, or did you half-ass it? You others may have/are tried/trying anything else/religion to find Meaning and Answers. Hey, I think it’s good to question things and life to a point. I am sorry you may see Christians where you live and they don’t act anything like what the Bible says. Yes, it sounds crazy to believe in some Almighty God and yet can’t even see Him. It’s called Faith.
“Taste and see that the Lord is Good”. There is a God who Loves you and I more than we can really comprehend. I challenge you Right Now (Stop Procrastinating) to give God a Chance in your Life. I have no clue what this may look like. Yes, it’s scary since we don’t Know what will happen. There’s Always the fear of the Unknown. God Knows Everything about You, Your Heart, and Struggles. Give Him a Chance.
