The words are stuck in the back of my head from the other night that a man in a drunken stupor told us as an attempt to converse and get us to go into a bar as we walked along the Saturday night market in Chiang Mai, Thailand. For half a second Everything in my body wanted to turn around and speak Life into him and cast out what Satan had so corrupted this man, but I continued on my way. I then immediately started processing and contemplating how many people in this world I Know Myself who might would say the same thing….and it saddened my heart.
I thought how many people is this corrupted and deprived world Live for Society/Worldly views and idols. Maybe you Yourself Reading this right Now might Live for Sports (of Any kind), Live for Women/Men, Live for Attention, Live for Sex, Live for Alcohol/Drugs, Live for the Weekend, Live for Video Games, etc etc etc. At first you might say No I don’t! But for real, really look down deep inside you and question “what I really Live for in Life.”
A lot of people I met in college Live for the Party Scene and/or Live for Community. Now, when I say Community, Community is Good, HOWEVER one should Not make it what you Entirely focus on or for and look for being validated by who you know or your friends. I believe this happens So Much during college and high school. People look and live for what Others tells of them, which is Certainly Good is someone is speaking Life into you…not Lies or death. I even saw this in the college ministries, and I bet it’s world wide.
Yes, I have struggled many times in my own life. I have been to a point in my life that all I really focused on was Sports and Video Games. Whether that was playing or watching them…in an obsessive manner. I have realized what I have “Lived” for in this world and now I See the Truth in it All. It’s is a struggle, but I go to God with my weaknesses and He is MY Strength.
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world”the lust of the flesh, the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of life”comes not from the Father but from the
world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
God Wants us to Love Him. It is such a simple request he asks Each and Every Single person of this world, yet many of us hesitate and resist. WHY? He is standing there right next to You with Arms Wide Open and waiting for us to just Love Him with a Willing Heart. You don’t have to clean up or get rid of some sort of “baggage” one carries before you seek Him. God Loves You right where you are, and wants us to Love Him.
