hey y’all!! welcome back :). so if you haven’t read my first two blog posts about this topic, I strongly encourage you to read it so you know what I’m talking about 🙂
——-
belief in His books:
– Tawrat (book of Moses)
– Zabur (book of David)
– Injeel (New Testament)
– Qur’an (Book of Muhammad) – current book
so the Arabic people have had now 4 books that they’ve went through. as you can see, the book of Moses, David, and the New Testament are all similar to Christianity. the only difference is the Qur’an is about Muhammad and that’s what they currently use.
the reason they have changed their books so often is because they believe man has changed each book, so they continue getting new ones.
the Qur’an now is fully in Arabic, and only in Arabic. the Qur’an cannot be changed to a different language, otherwise they believe that the Qur’an has been changed by man and that it’s no longer valid from Allah himself. the Qur’an is thought to be made perfect the way it is.
(quick little fact: the Qur’an has to be placed in the highest in the room. for example; Patrick spoke about how he went to an Islamic country, and he once looked up and saw the Qur’an on top of a shelf where no one would be able to reach it. they do this because they believe that it’s closest to Allah.)
Belief in Jesus:
– Isa (Jesus) is mentioned 25 times in the Qur’an vs. Muhammad which is mentioned only 4 times in the Qur’an.
– they do believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary.
– they believe that Jesus is highly honored in this world and in the next.
– they do believe that Jesus was here to deliver a very important message.
– they believe that Jesus was a servant, teacher, lover of God, but not divine – meaning He wasn’t God, but only a teacher.
– they also believe that Jesus wasn’t crucified. they believe that another man took the place of Jesus. that Jesus and another man swapped out positions.
– they do believe that Jesus was the only person that hasn’t sinned. (Surah 19:19)
5 Pillars of Islam:
1. Al-Shahadah – meaning to testify
– “I testify that there is no other god except Allah, and I testify…” etc.
2. Al-Salat – ritual prayer (sunrise, noon, afternoon, sunset, nighttime)
– ablution prayer – Muslims must wash their bodies and be wearing clean/nice clothes for the prayer. must look their absolute best for Allah.
when they pray, they must always face Mecca (holiest city)
3. Al-Saum – Fasting
– during Ramadan, Muslims are not allowed to eat when it is light outside. when the sun goes down and it’s dark out, they go to parties and party all night long while they eat.
Ramadan is when people fast for a month. on the last day of Ramadan, (laylay al-adar) the Muslim people believe that Allah can speak to them.
4. Al-Zaket – “offering”
– all Muslims give their wealth
– Islam people strictly forbid asking money – to ask for money in the Islam faith is very frowned upon.
5. Al-Hajj – Pilgrimage
– the pilgrimage must be made by every Muslim once in their lifetime.
– it’s a long trip, and several thousands of people die doing it each year.
– the goal is to kiss it or touch it several times – a big ritual (recommend looking up!)
alrighty y’all, thank you guys SO MUCH for continuing to read my blog posts, they mean so much 🙂 I’m going to have one more part to finish up on! <3 have a great day!!!
