adequacy;; “the state or quality of being adequate.”

adequate;; “satisfactory or acceptable in quality or quantity.”

——————–

 ever since i can remember, i have never liked my height.  being a 5’9 female is something that i have always shamed on;; something that i had always wanted to change.  i always saw these little girls with their tall boyfriends.  they would hug, and i would see her head at his chest and wish that i had that.  wish that my boyfriend could pick me up, wish that i didn’t weigh more because of my body mass.  i didn’t want to be called, “the big girl” on the team.  i didn’t want to buy the bigger clothes, and i didn’t want to be the girl that knocked everyone over in sports.  i just didn’t want it anymore.

we all have something that we wish we could change.  we all want the nicer house, the better job, the extra fat to not be there on our bodies when we wake up.  “i would have everything if i could change that one thing about myself,” some people might say.  “i would be the happiest person ever,” others might say.  but what creates true happiness?  you’ll hear about these gorgeous humans who seem like they have the perfect life getting up on stage and talking about being happy with yourself and what you look like;; but what actually changes that sadness, embarrassment, that anger and hate, to happiness?  what changes in your mind to accept yourself?

i think the main problem about this issue, is that we focus on the outward appearances or earthy materials.  we aren’t focusing about the person on the inside.  we aren’t focusing our attention to Jesus.  instead, we’re thinking about what we can do to be accepted by others.  we’re thinking about being good enough, about being loved, being remembered.  but if we look toward God, we see that He is all of those things.

isn’t the only acceptance we should be looking for is the acceptance of Jesus Christ?  our creator, our king, the Messiah?  the person that loves us for who we are, and is constantly seeking for us to love Him?  we search for love, peace, and happiness, except we search for it in the wrong places.

what God says about love;;

– 1 John 4:19; “We love because he first loved us.”

– Jeremiah 31:3; “The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

– Romans 8:39; neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

what God says about peace;;

– 1 Peter 5:7; “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

– Psalm 29:11; “The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.”

– John 16:33; “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.  In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.”

what God says about happiness;;

– Psalm 37:4; “Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

– 2 Chronicles 9:7; “How happy your people must be!  How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!”

– Romans 5:2; “through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  and we boast in the hope of the glory of God.”

so overall, take delight in what the Lord has given you!  love that “crappy” car that you have, and laugh at the extra fat on your body!  think about lucky you are to have the job you have.  don’t get too caught up in having to do this, or not wanting to do that.  spend more time with Jesus every single day, and get to know how much He loves you and realize how much He has given you.  you are in the exact place you’re supposed to be in:)  look to Him for everything.  give Him the doubt, tears, praise, and joy, because trust me;; He will give you peace, happiness, and most importantly, love.

have a great week 🙂
