Behind
every great man, there is a great woman.
No wait, that’s not the one. Umm…There is no I in team?  No, that doesn’t fit either.   Sorry, I am bad with these
aphorisms…

Well,
anyone who knows me knows I have serious problems with pride.  I have always believed that if I tried
hard enough, I could succeed at anything.
Whether it was academics, sports, or even relationships, if I gave 100
percent, nothing could prevent me from obtaining my goal.  Of course, whenever I failed, it wasn’t
because I had limitations, but rather, it was because I wasn’t trying my
hardest to study for that test, or because the other guy got a really lucky
basket.

Well,
to be blunt, my self-conceived image of who I think I am is a bunch of “B.S.” (and I don’t use my initials lightly!)
No matter how I try to spin it, I am a failure.  There is no amount of effort I can put
forth to be worthy of God.
Thankfully, when I bow humbly before him, he shows me grace.

It
is with this in mind that I humbly seek help today.  I was told this morning that I need to have 5000$ in my
support account by Thursday Nov. 12.
Even after putting in all my savings, I still have a long way to
go.  I am desperate for any help,
no matter how small it may seem.

I
hope this isn’t the pride talking, but I would be more than happy to show my
appreciation by volunteering my time to do just about anything.  If anyone needs manual labor, tutoring,
clerical, baby/animal/house sitting, sports/music/chess lessons, I would be
more than happy to oblige. Seriously, I am willing to do anything (PG-rated) to
show my gratitude for your donations.
Because I know that it may motivate some of you, I will even perform
embarrassing stunts for the sake of meeting my fundraising deadlines.

I
would also love it if people could pledge to contribute monthly.  Even 10 bucks a month (skipping out on
a few Starbucks coffees) will put me well on my way to my goal.  I c
an’t emphasize enough how every
little bit helps.  In addition to
my undying adoration, you also get a tax deduction!

I
am really thankful for all of your help and hoping I can meet the deadline,
because, well frankly, after reading through MacGyver’s fundraising plan, I am
having second thoughts…
