Hey Everyone,
Its been awhile since I posted anything…9 months to be exact. Quite a lot has happened since returning from the race. I’ll start with the biggest news first…(drumroll)…I’m getting married! Shortly after returning to California, I ran into an old friend from my undergraduate days. I had the privilege of being in this amazing young lady’s small group during my time in undergraduate ministry at Berkeley. We also lived in the same dormitory and attended one another’s game nights and sporting events. There’s a lot more detail (as well as ample pictures) on our wedding website. As far as work and ministry are concerned, I have started attending her charismatic church, one which she was actually instrumental in the founding process. Although I love the people at my old church, God has made it pretty clear that I had grown complacent and I need an environment that is going to challenge me to be constantly striving to grow closer to God. Especially given my background of struggling more with the emotional components of a relationship with God, I am confident I will experience many great things in this new community.
As far as the future is concerned, we are both very passionate about doing at least a year of mission work in the near future. My heart is in Asia, but for the sake of inhibiting our efforts in the future, I will refrain from posting any details on this public website. (Talk to me privately if you want the inside scoop).
I have a job with a private company teaching classes and tutoring people for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). If all goes according to plan, I should begin teaching at a local college in the Fall. So far, I’ve loved teaching and have no regrets about opting not to pursue a career as an attorney. I have no doubt that the training and experience will continue to serve me throughout my ministry and career.
