So as our month outside Manila comes to a close and as we pack up our things to head to Tacloban i look back at all the people ive met, the lives ive changed, and the fun ive had. Ministry this past month has been a bit different than the normal WR stuff. Let me explain. This past month we’ve had the whole squad in one place ministering together so that gave everyone a chance to go out and do what they had a passion for such as hanging with the local in the pool we have here at KIM. The ministry i did was mostly construction type of stuff and heading up the the children’s home nearby and once a week do this thing called a feeding. during the feedings every Friday we would wed drive maybe 20 minutes to thi place where on one side is a dump with people walking though picking out useful stuff they could use or sell and on the other side was a dirt road with these sort of metal and concrete shacks that people lived in with their families. When we would get there we’d open the back of the trunk and begin serving the REALLY HOT chicken soup type stuff to anyone that came up with bowls ans cups and other stuff to carry the food in.Then after the feeding we’d go to one of the homes there nd do a bible study with a few of the locals there. Now comes the awesome part =D i actually got to lead one of the bible studies and it was both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time haha. A total spur of the moment thing the pastor that was with us pointed to me and asked if i would like to lead it and my first thought was you’ve got to be kidding haha i actually thought he was just messing with me till a second later i saw he was serious. So in my head i just prayed to God saying,”OK Lord this is so out of nowhere but im going to trust that you’ve led me here for a reason so just please help me though it and may the words i say come from you and perhaps even hit home for someone here.” So then i started to teach haha honestly I just winged it and i dont know if anything i said actually had an impact on anyone there but i know that i walked away from there with more confidence than ever and i knew that I i just need to trust in Jesus and I can do anything He calls me to do.So anther ministry was Home. The children’s home was a lot of fun getting to play tag with the kids or just swinging on the swings with them to even just sitting around and talking. Man ive learned so much from them than i even thought possible haha. Seeing all those smiling faces and joy coming from those kids just lit up my heart and honestly taught me that even though your circumstances are a little rough you can still rely on Christ for your joy and strength.
