Authors note: This will be my last post on this blog site. I have moved over to brianledtke.wordpress.com. Love you guys and see you over there!

Put your plow in the ground and start plowing. Join in what God is already doing. We are not the center of this story; the hero has already come, he just needs workers.

I recently heard this spoken by Christine Caine, founder of Hillsong Church, at Passion in Atlanta. It hit me hard. While I was on the World Race I knew this truth without a doubt; I was the worker and God was the center. Unfortunately it became much easier to forget once I got back to the States where I suddenly became consumed with my future and what I was supposed do and where I was supposed to go. I forgot that I had to put my plow to the dirt and keep working.

I’ve started to feel an intense urgency to share Jesus with others. The world seems to be crumbling and hope is hard to come by which makes it as good a time as any to share the Comforter and Light with the lost and hurting.

Thus I have stopped fretting about what 5 years down the road will look like or even next year and instead am concentrating on the here and now and those Jesus has for me to love this very minute.

Right now I’m leading worship for student ministries at Hopevale and am loving being the tool to help bring them into God’s presence. I’m also working for Next Step Ministries (the same ministry I went to Jamaica with) writing a devotional for teens that is tentatively being published at the end of the year. I’ll also be spending three weeks of this summer in Fairbanks, Alaska leading worship for teens on mission trips as well as working on a Christian retreat center for the Native Americans in the area.

I’m very excited for this summer and especially excited for an opportunity that has just opened up for me in May. I’ve been invited, as alumni of the World Race, to go to Cuba for a week. The country has opened itself up again to only twelve kinds of people groups and thankfully missions’ organizations are one of them!

I have always had this heart for Cuba and sharing hope and freedom with the people of this oppressive country. We will be traveling to the 500 year old city of Sancti Spiritus and teaming up with a church planting organization there. We will be leading men’s and women’s Bible study groups, visiting and encouraging new church plants and families, and joining in sports ministry for teenagers. Our main goal though is to bring the light of Jesus to this dark country and hopefully open up more and more opportunities for missionaries.

The cost of this trip is $800 and here is where you come in. I’m looking for people to partner with me financially as well as prayer warriors. I know that God will provide; I witnessed him bring in almost $800,000 for my squad on my squad for the World Race. He is the great provider.

If you would like to partner with me financially you can donate through Paypal to [email protected]. It is a very easy process for those who haven’t used it. Or you can mail a check and make it payable to:

Unfortunately they do not provide a fundraising site for short term missions as they did for the Race so I will be sending them one big check.

Thank you so much for prayerfully considering partnering with me and if financial support is not possible right now please support me through prayer. I know firsthand that once you make a decision to step out and do something awesome for the kingdom that the enemy steps up his game as well. So please be praying against that.

I also challenge you to step out of whatever comfort zone you’re in and look for places where you can put your plow to the dirt and bring the kingdom of God to earth.
