So as everyone knows, I accepted Christ a little over a year ago, and got baptized last month. I am learning more and more about the Lord everyday which is very exciting!! But one thing I NEVER thought I would be doing in my life…..is preach!! Could anyone picture ME in front of 100 people in church preaching the message?! No!! But guess what I did on Sunday…..
Our contact asked us to participate in church with a few things. So Andrew and Vivian sang a worship song, Vivian shared a testimony and our contact asked for someone to share the message. As soon as he said it my heart started to race and I wanted to do it so bad!! I told my team leader I wanted to do it, but needed to take a day to pray about it and see if that is what God really wanted for me. So the next day, my answer was absolutely YES!!!
I spoke about redemption, encouragement and evangelism. I told them that their past life as a Buddhist is over and God has forgiven them of all the sins they have committed. He knows the offerings they gave and the empty life they lived with out Him. I wanted them to know that they have the King of Kings on their side, the most powerful being in the world has their back!!! That they should not be ashamed of being Christian, but to go out and tell the world!! I told them that they don’t have to be an American Christian Missionary to preach the Gospel and spread Jesus’ love with the world. At the end of my sermon I challenged them all by next weeks church service to talk to 5 people about Jesus, 5 people they don’t know, complete strangers and tell them how amazing Jesus is!!! And to come back to church and tell everyone their stories.
It was amazing!! I felt so confident on stage, I wasn’t shaking, I only lost track a few times. Overall, I LOVED preaching!! I can’t wait to do it again.
